Why are import tasks rejecting records after upgrading Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate?

Background

An Office Connector Import solution contains TSImport instructions that identify the data values that are to be formatted and placed into an import file. Each type of import file within Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate has a specific required format that dictates the format of values and the sequence of the information. Although it is very uncommon, a new version of Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate may include changes to the format of a given type of import file. The Office Connector Import software is updated to include any such changes however it remains possible for Office Connector Import to produce an incorrectly formatted import file if you are using the latest version of Office Connector Import with an older version of Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate or vice-versa.

Symptom

After upgrading, if the import journal reflects messages such as the following, this couldindicate that the wrong file format is being used relative to the version of Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate:

EXCEPTION RECORDS
Invalid FIELD-NAME field (fld X, col Y)

Resolution

The import file format expected by your installed version of Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate can be found in the application help. The import file format being used by Office Connector Import can be viewed by clicking the Show Control Panel button on the Office Connector toolbar and then selecting File Formats. If the expected file format differs from what is shown by Office Connector Import, this could be due to a change to the file format that was made between versions. Contact the support team for Office Connector to obtain the necessary update to resolve the issue.

Upgrading to Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate 12.1 - JC Commitment Import

The 12.1 version introduces a new file format for JC Commitments. Office Connector Import version 1.1.22 or higher uses this new file format by default. If you have upgraded Office Connector but are still using a version of Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (prior to 12.1), you will need to obtain an update from the support team for Office Connector in order for Office Connector Import to produce commitment import files that are compatible with your version. If you are using version 12.1 but have not yet upgraded Office Connector Import to version 1.1.22 or higher, you must do so in order to produce properly formatted commitment import files.

Note - If your Office Connector Import solution references columns that have been removed from the JC Commitment Import file format, changes to the TSImport functions in your solution will be necessary.
