Why can't I login using my Event 1 software with Sage Timberline Office 9.4 and prior?
Event 1 Software applications utilize the Sage Timberline Office ODBC driver to access data. When connecting via ODBC, login information must be supplied if security has been enabled in Sage Timberline Office. This article deals with several possible causes for the following message to be displayed:
The user name or password you entered is incorrect. Please enter a valid user name and password
Cause 1 - User name or Password is invalid
Confirm that the user name and password you are entering are valid. These are the same vaules you would enter when starting any Sage Timberline Office application. The easiest way to confirm these values is to start an application like TS-Main and enter your login information. If the user name and password you enter allows you to login then those values should also work for your Event 1 Software application.
Cause 2 - Update to Microsoft Office required
If you are using Event 1 Office Connector with Microsoft Excel XP (2002) or Excel 2003, you may need to install an update to Microsoft Office that resolves a compatibility issue between Microsoft Excel and the Sage Timberline Office ODBC driver.
