Why can't I use certain Sage Timberline Office accounting applications with Office Connector?

A small number of accounting applications in the Sage Timberline Office suite were not originally developed by Timberline Software.  As such, these applications do not share the same architecture as those originally built by Timberline.  Although these applications may utilize the Pervasive database engine to store their application data, they do not utilize the same database components and hence do not work with the Timberline Data ODBC driver. 

Since Office Connector interacts with Timberline Office data via the Timberline Data ODBC driver, the data from these applications cannot be accessed via Office Connector.  The applications this applies to are listed below:

  • Inventory
  • Purchasing
  • Service Management

Although Office Connector does not presently provide access to the data for these applications, it is possible to utilize data from these applications in Excel using MS-Query.  In this case, Office Connector may still be a valuable tool to bring in related data from the other applications that Office Connector can work with.
