How Do I Migrate My Forecast Manager Software To A New Server?

The following steps can be used to successfully move your Event 1 System Folder (E1SF) associated with your Forecast Managersoftware to a new server when it is required by a server migration.

Before beginning the steps listed below, it will be important to identify the location of your current E1SF as well as the location of where you plan to store your new E1SF.

NOTE: Do not perform these steps from the server hosting your E1SF unless this will be the only server from which Forecast Manager will be accessed/used.

  1. Run the setup program for Forecast Manager either from a saved copy or by downloading the most current installer on a machine where Forecast Manager will be accessed by an end user.
  2. During the installation process, you will be prompted for the desired location of your E1SF. Verify the path listed is referencing the new E1SF and complete the set up process.
  3. After the installation is complete, copy the following files/directories from the old E1SF to the corresponding locations in your new E1SF.
    • E1SF\Forecast\Workbooks.xml - Replace existing file if prompted.
    • E1SF\Forecast\Templates - Do not replace existing file if prompted.
    • E1SF\Forecast\Workbooks - Do not replace existing files if prompted.
  4. Update the license status for your purchased license type(s):
    • Forecast Manager
      1. Open Forecast Manager.
      2. Log in to Sage 300 CRE if prompted.
      3. Select Help\Licensing from the Forecast Manager menu located.
      4. Confirm the correct License ID and Company Name are entered.
      5. Click Next.
      6. Click Next.
      7. This should result in a message stating your licenses were successfully updated. If you receive a message statingComputer ID Mismatch please Contact Us.
  5. Repeat steps 1 and 2 on all other workstations/servers from which Forecast Manager will be used.
